Warbirds Over Monroe – November 2022

The Warbirds Over Monroe Airshow is a staple of the area in which I grew up. It is arguable one of the biggest annual events in the southern Charlotte area. I attended many years ago when I was still in middle school, spurred on by my love for War Thunder at the time.

Warbirds Over Monroe was actually the event which began my journey into reenactment. It turned the idea of reenacting from some abstract concept of events that happen far away in other states, to something right in my backyard. It was my first event in 2021, and it felt amazing to be back a year later and see the progress I have made in my impressions, but more importantly, in my connections.

I have met so many amazing and knowledgeable people in this hobby, many of which have become my friends. As I write this, it is Thanksgiving Day, and I have to say, I am so deeply thankful for these people which have made my journey in this hobby a fantastic experience.
